Titanic whistles plaque
The Charm Bracelet Trail is a pavement trail of 16 bronze pavement plaques located on Newhall Hill and Frederick Street in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter. The plaques record the events, achievements and manufacturing history of the historic Jewellery Quarter.
The Titanic plaque is the sixth plaque in the trail and records the manufacturer of the "Acme Thunderer" whistles provided to officers and senior ratings. Other plaques in the trail commemorate the FA Cup, which was designed and made in the Jewellery Quarter and the manufacture of parts for Supermarine Spitfire aircraft during the Second World War.
The plaque depicts two "Acme Thunderer" whistles above a central image of a lifebelt, within which is a stylised representation of the Titanic sinking. The plaque has the following inscription:
Whistles for the Titanic were made in the Jewellery Quarter, 1912
